Promasidor Ghana Limited

We are very happy to announce the launch of the third edition of the “Cowbell National Cycling Tour of Ghana”. We, Promasidor (Ghana) Ltd. have demonstrated by today’s milestone our unwavering commitment to the development of sports in general and cycling in particular here in Ghana. Together with our strategic partners in this endeavor, we for the third time are embarking on another journey across Ghana via the vehicle of cycling.

Over the last two editions, I am certain all stakeholders have witnessed our effort to continually improve this event to make it bigger and better. In furtherance of this objective, we together with our partners have committed significantly more resources in support of this year’s event. We have therefore committed, seven hundred and eighty thousand Ghana Cedis approximately, to support the event. We have been encouraged by the improvement and growth of the sport over the last two editions and are convinced that our investment in Cycling has yielded the desired results and met our expectation.

Promasidor’s support for cycling and commitment to sports, remains synergistic with its avowed mission to promote healthy living based on three key ingredients. The first is quality nutrition, which our brand Cowbell – Our Milk, and its popular and adored extensions, Coffee milk, Strawberry, Chocomalt, Mocha, and Coconut variants amongst many others provide.

Secondly, exercise which we promote through sports. Last but not the least, a clean environment which cycling as a mode of transportation reinforces because it is a clean mode of transportation without emissions.

I am also happy and profoundly grateful to our loyal partners for their consistent and continued cordial partnership. These include the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the National Cycling Association, the National Sports Authority and the Ghana Police Service, not forgetting our corporate partners, Pens & Plastics Ghana Ltd, TV3, the Multimedia group, Global Outdoor and DDP Outdoor, whose invaluable support has been crucial in making all three editions of this event possible.

This year’s tour will again be a thirteen day event through eight regions of Ghana, with a total of 72 cyclists from 12 teams all based here in Ghana, I would like to make a passionate appeal to all participants and officiating officials to ensure fair play and hope this year’s contest will be keenly contested at a very high standard in preparation for next year’s event.

As I have repeatedly stated in the past, our target in the medium to long term, is to benchmark the Tour de France, which is the world’s third largest sporting event. Today I would like to make a commitment, that we will renew our sponsorship for the National Cycling Tour for an additional three years, and as promised next year’s event will no longer be national, but international.

We are confident that this objective is attainable and are hopeful that over the medium to long term this event will promote tourism and generate economic activity within the local communities that will be hosting the tour.

Thank you all for your attention and I am certain we will have another great and successful event.

  1. Most of this in confidence – Congratulations for public Comment!!

Hello Olivier and all at Promasidor!

Thanks to Facebook and a new friend, Samuel Anim, I’ve learned about your company, dairies, and COWBELL as a brand in Ghana (perhaps much more of Africa, I don’t know!?). While we saw these characters in America many years ago, they’re still fresh, and your branding and flavors look excellent! Congratulations, and bravo, chapeau, for your educational campaigns!

I’ve got a small business buying and selling bicycling, cycling jerseys, from around the world to people around the world, but 99% of my business is in the USA, and 90% of that here in our Southwest; Arizona, California, Nevada, Utah, and Colorado… I’d love to talk to you about surplus cycling jerseys, if you have any. Or about adding to your order, to lower your costs, and purchasing 2014 COWBELL jerseys before your next National Tour of Ghana!

    Sincerely,
    Jim Freibert
